Shopping our Stash #208 - Buttons, Baubles, and Bows!

Ooooooh I love this week's Shopping our Stash challenge! Of course I went with 'buttons' out of those options - you've been here before, right?  By baubles we mean those great big fancy schmancy embellishments you've been hoarding - the DT has some perfect examples of them. Me, I went with what I'm beginning to think of as my signature button frame:

Supplies: Flourishes stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Bo Bunny papers; Basic Grey brad; classic small circle Nesties; buttons from stash

I even paper-pieced the pinwheel - the purple layers are popped up.

Check out how the SOS crew played with their pretties:

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - W is for....

....oh, surely you can guess!

Wine and I don't tend to be friends, because wine likes to fool me into thinking I haven't had *that* much to drink...until the next morning. However, that doesn't make it any less magical! So come and celebrate the drink of the goddesses with the Snarky Sisters - you could even work in another occasion, like I did:

Supplies: image & sentiment from From the Heart stamps; Spectrum Noir markers; Antique Linen distress ink; MME paper; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic

It's been extremely humid here (above 90% most of the week) and it took forrrrrevvvverrr for the gloss to dry - hard to get a pic but the entire wine bottle & glass are covered.

Fill your wine glass (or just get the bottle, we won't judge!) and check out what the sistahs made:

Karen (off this week)

And don't forget to stop by and leave our guest designer VICKI some love for her project!

Shopping our Stash #207 - For the Boys!

Now that we're all fresh off the Father's Day crafting spree, let's use that bounty of masculine inspiration and create some more cards for guys! That's what the Shopping our Stash team was up to, and wouldn't you like to join us?  My card was inspired by one I made as a special request, to make a father's day card from the dog. I used many of the same elements but changed the sentiment, and ta-da:

Supplies: Stamps from Paper Smooches - Paws for a Cause,  Sentiment Sampler, the coordinating dog sentiments to Paws for a Cause, can't find them on the website; Basic Grey papers; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Ripe Persimmon distress ink; unknown speech bubble die

Check out how the SOS crew interpreted the Dreaded Man Cards (lol):

And you have until Monday,June 29th to come play!

I'm also popping in at the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge:

Tuesday Morning Sketches #306 - SVG Attic!

Happy Tuesday! SVG Attic is our sponsor this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches, and the design team played with Give a Hoot. I don't have an electric cutter BUT I was inspired by the adorable owls!

Supplies: K&Co owl sticker; MME paper; Reverse Confetti sentiment; Hero Arts Bubble Gum ink; unknown scallop edge die, twine, button

I ended up keeping Debbie's sketch CAS, but it's a great one that you can embellish with too!

This challenge will be open until next Sunday, June 27 - hop on over & see what the rest of the team has made!

One Last Dad card

One last Father's Day card to show you - I just love how  the watercolouring turned out and couldn't resist sharing :)

Supplies: unknown bird stamp; PTI sentiment; Palette Noir ink; Distress inks for watercolouring; Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery supplies

At first I was unhappy with how the inks bled, but once the panel dried....love it. Some stitching on the corners for a little somethin' without too much dimension or frilliness, and tada!  Popping in over at little red wagon for the stitching challenge.

Hoot Hoot Hooray!

Kid cards! Some of my very favourites to make.

Supplies: Owl stickers from K& Co; Hoot Hoot sentiment from Reverse Confetti; celebrate & balloon dies from Lil Inkers; Picked Raspberry distress ink; classic small circle Nesties; unknown banner die

I did end up being frustrated with my attempt to tie a bow with embroidery floss (single strands? WHAT WAS I THINKING?) but I persevered and I do love how it turned out. Probably won't do it again though ;)

Shopping our Stash #206 - Out on a Limb!

As the title suggests, at Shopping our Stash this week we want to see trees! Conveniently I'm currently addicted to them, so this was super easy for me.

Supplies: stamps from PTI; papers from Studio Calico; classic small oval Nesties; Distress inks in Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Gathered Twigs, Walnut Stain

This is one of the few multi-step stamping sets I've been able to use successfully - even clear sets generally confound my ability to line things up just so, and I knowwww there's products to help with that but no, I wanna spend my money on fun stuff :) lol

You gotta see all the lovely trees! Check out the SOS crew:

Moo & Moo

Trying to be a better blogger - I've been making so much but just so freaking busy I've been bad about challenges & even photos. Plus I think my computer needs a tune up...or bloglovin hates me. Either one. Anyway, the farm animal challenge at little red wagon had me playing with Paper Smooches again:

Supplies: Paper Smooches stamps; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Peeled Paint & Spiced Marmalade distress ink; Mod Podge Dimensional Magic (on the cows' eyes and farmer's teeth); Tim Holtz design ruler & embroidery supplies; unknown paper; googly eyes

The expression on this farmer's face just cracks me up :)

Tuesday Morning Sketches #304 - Patti Rowe, CTMH Demo!

Good morning lovelies! We've got a brand new sketch for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches, and a fabulous prize up for grabs from our generous returning sponsor, Patti Rowe!  She's also hosting a bit of a contest for the DT - she'd like you to vote for one of our creations to win an additional prize. Now that's a fun & unique way to celebrate!

I really wanted to combine the sketch with the current Jingle Belles shaker challenge, and it took a little engineering but I think it worked!

Supplies: Close To my Heart snowman stamp set; Memento Tuxedo Black ink; Spectrum Noir markers; Lily Bee Designs papers; unknown stitched strip die; classic small circle Nesties; shrink plastic; assorted confetti & sequins for the shaker

I adhered the strips to the snowflake patterned paper first, and  then cut out the shaker circle and assembled as usual. I was holding my breath that I used enough tape to keep those suckers in place!

Here's the fun sketch, designed by Debbie:

Trees seem to be my go-to this year, and there's one to follow, but I also saw a great mug Amy shared with the Coffee Lovers FB group and that saying just had to go on a card! Both cards are for The Kraft Journal's Father's Day challenge, and this first one is also for little red wagon's Use it Up - first time this embossing folder has seen paper!

Inspired by a Song

I finally tried Dana's inky sky technique!  I printed out two copies of the digital stamp, and cut out one to use as a mask so I could do the sky.  The overall love feel of the card, and specifically the sentiment, were inspired by a song that keeps being an earworm for me - I Love You Always Forever. Thanks to Open-Minded Crafting Fun for hosting one of my favourite challenges, inspired by a song - I listen to music always when I craft so I bet a lot of my cards are actually inspired by that!

Supplies: Digi stamp from Sami Stamps; sentiment from Reverse Confetti; Spectrum Noir markers; Sharpie white paint pen; distress inks in Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot; Pearl Tattered Angels mist

After inking the sky and adding the white stars, I spritzed lightly with pearl mist. I really really love how it turned out :)

And before I go, the video for my inspiration song :) You are welcome for having it stuck in your head all day!

Shopping our Stash #204 - Red, Red Wine

This week at Shopping our Stash we have a super fun challenge - and another song earworm as a title! Use wine as the theme of your project, or create a red project. I seriously overthought the process and finally came up with this at the last second:

Supplies: rose from Stampin' Up; leaf from Paper Smooches; Palette Noir ink; Festive Berries distress ink; water brush & watercolour paper; classic small circle Nesties; Corner Chomper; allll the red bling

I'm impressed with how vivid the red watercolouring turned out - I am so very in love with watercolouring with my distress inks. I need more wc paper!

Supplies: papers from MME; Corner Chomper; MFT Stars die; Reverse Confetti sentiment; Memento Gray Flannel ink

You don't need to use stars for those shapes in the sketch, but they seemed perfectly birthdayish to me :)
